The North Wales Fun
This time it was a trip to Wales, the Land where 3,560 ft of slate rocks formed of volcanic eruptions called SNOWDON formed. No worries... Snowdon is a dormant volcano.Aye I was anticipating few things b4 i landed there ....climb up the huge majestic Snowdon, Visit the longest place name and the BBQ dinner ;-p I was foreseeing the air of Excitment in Wales... n my prognostication didnt fail... :-)))
It is a 4 day tour starting from Friday night 6:30 PM to Monday 9:00 PM.
Day #1 :
To begin with, we took the tube in District Line , got down at Mileland to the take the Central line to GreatProtland, where we were asked to assemble. We occipied the last seats of the 16 seater white comfortable coach. Here comes Mr.David wearing a Dark-Red jacket, the guide & driver, to describe the whole journey.. Now aheading to North Wales.......
Meanwhile.... we were asked to play a small game in the coach to get familierised with the other ppl in d crew. Next to us was sitting Mr.Sieman, who was from Australia.... I wasnt really interested to learn about his doing.... I was simply listening to "Vaji Vaji Sivaji..." Now comes the time to introduce the person next to u, to d other members in d crew. since i wasnt really interested, i had none to talk abt... then, brilliantly, (as always ;-p) I screamed "Now let me introuduce to u , the person sitting in the front with Red jacket, he is Mr.David working in RoadTrip, now he is aheading to Wales"... the whole bus laughed out ..... Hoooh ! Managed..... Phew !
Lotta gals in the bus and few guys.... guys not so good.... Australians, Polish, South african and Americans n ofcourse INDIANS.....
We stopped for Dinner .. had Double mac cheese burger with drink n fries..... n went Zzz in the buz until we reached d cottage in Llandudno at 12:30..... David rasied his voice saying... "Letz meet for breakfast at 8:00Am in the morning and start at 9:00am"Then .... Sang went Zzzzzzzzz in a nice comfortable Soothing bed..............
Day #2:
Had a chance to explore Llandudno and enjoyed the fresh air near the castle walls.. walked up near the river... walked upon the moving bridge...Actaully... waiting to climb the Majestic SNOWDON.
Lucky that d day was sunny. Afternoon from 12:00 to 7:00 was dedicated for Moutain Climbing... We packed up lotz and lotz of water, loadz n loadz of snacks n Juice in our back pack.
Start fellas.... it is juz 3,560 Feet high ... highest peak in England and Wales.
"Total greenary.... high up the hills.... challenging climb awaiting.... " said David and he will be waiting in the other end of the mountain.
There are totally 11 peaks in snowdon. The path to the highest peak was not clean n neat..
it sprialed around 2,3 peaks on its way....
High SteepsClumpsy rocksFlat n smooth slate surfaceShort and Deep creek holesSudden Deep valleys
Rough and tring climb be it oneside.....
However on the other side, kewl sceneic viewsGreen mountains and Green valleyBlue Lake Water in mid of the valleyDifferent textures of rockDifferent forms of stone....
I liked 2 things in the Sonwdon
#1. Rail routes and climbers path spriling arond the mountain like a Snake Vasuki spriling the Mount Mandara.[ Hindu Myhtology : The Ocean was churned by using the Mount Mandara as the pole and the king of snakes, Vasuki as the rope which was wrapped around the mountain. The Gods held the tail of the snake while the demons(Asuras) held the head end of the snake and pulled on it alternately, causing the mountain to rotate, which in turn would caused the Ocean to be churned for Amrita .]
#2. The Arragement of the rocks and stones.... they were placed 1 above the other with a slight balance as in the game Jenga. [ Jenga is a game of physical and mental skill, in which players remove blocks from a tower and put them on top. The player who causes the tower to collapse loses, usually played in Pubs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenga ]
Fine.. after we reached the peak, after 4 hours of struggle....
i breathed hard,
Heavy perspiration,
was totally exhausted.
Sat down there in the peak and had a orange cake and snickers.....
Relexed a lot....
Now.... Remember need to go down now... we were asked to take the path the cog rail track... esides wearing the shoes, small stones on the rail track were peciring the legs , Run babe run... guess the people who came with us already in the ground....
Hooops ! Please i cannt..... lets take a cog rail down the mountain... however the rail starts only at certain height. So no choice had to run down uptill that level... Complete Exhausion....
When we reached home, we releazied the Barbeique Dinner is wating for us... yeah hOOO... Quickly refersh .. take bath... apply painkillers creams and run down for dinner..... Yummuy.... had Lotz n went to sleep...I Pity sangee... She was in the room sleeping when others r in the Pub.
Day #3:
Headed to Conwy and Betws-y-Coed. Went to Gellert's grave [ Gellert is a dog who was kept as a guard for his master's child, when his master went out. And when he came back, he saw Gellert with bloddy mouth. The angry master thought that d dog 'd eaten his child and had put the sword straight thru his heart. Gellert died on the spot. The master went inside his house only 2 c d baby smiling and playing, and next to him was a dead, torn Wolf which earlier came to attack the child. So the master built a grave for him with his statue there. ]
Then went to Icecream shop which was famous for it 24+ differnt flavors.... Enjoyed it...
Then we headed to Ugly House , which was built in a day, with its chimeny smoking. Headed to a beutiful n rocky river.... spent time there for a while....
Visit the amazing artistic hang out and marvel at the waterfalls and stunning scenery that has attracted artists for centuriesheaded back to Llandudno for our evening meal.
While waiting for ppl to gather for the evening meal..... i played the Game jenga in a Hotel Pub, when every1 was having a beer, pity me had fanta....Eveing meal in a Restrutanat.... awesome .. but i had Fish and Potato wedges only.
Day #4 :
Fresh in the morning, Hopped on a steam railway at Blaenau FfestiniogSmallest house in great bratain.
A visit to Portmeirion village, a taste of Italy in the heart of Wales. a chance to wet my feet as we cruise the sandy beaches of Porthmadog.A visit to Wales would not be complete without a stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (longest place name in the world) to get your passport stamped. Headed back home to London. Returned to London at 9:30. Went to Chennai Dosa and had one full non-veg Meal to complete the trip.
