Full of Excitement..... Exhilaration... Excitation...

I still remember going 2 a planetarium holding on 2 my mother's hand 2 c d constellation. It happened long, long ago but d memory z still fresh in my mind. I was in a dark auditorium -- there were glittering stars in d dark sky and I looked at them in awe. There were bright stars, and not-so-bright stars; some of them were together, some far away from each other. I jumped up in joy when I spotted a bright star. I clapped when I felt a star was smiling at me. It was a spectacle, an unforgettable spectacle.

Today, after so many years, I am reminded of tht particular night inside d planetarium. And wht triggered off this memory was ..... Whtz else could it be .. Oh yeah... it z Sivaji .. [ Chumma pera ketala atthrudula ]
Inside d dark theatre, I was treated once again to a spectacle for more than 3 hours with d most brightest star, d SUPER STAR. As I watched, I was extremely filled with JOY and most of d time, d child in me got very excited.

Sivaji, d Boss, Most awaited film of d year , starring my ever green super star with his new styles.

"Sooriyano Chandirano.... Yaar ivano sattena sollu..."

It was June 09th 2007, i opened up cineworld url 2 book d tickets in advance... it said tickets can be booked only before 5 days of release.I was like Ooops :-(. d next day, I logged in again and again until i was able 2 book tickets susccesssully for 14th June [ a full 24-hours before it comes 2 India on June 15 ].

I knew d ticket was a bit costly.... I said 2 myself Rs.1000 z afforable 4 any Hardcore and Extremely explicit fan of thalaivar.

It was a fine evening on 14th June.....and clock stuck 5:30PM... i was still in office waiting 4 my boss' permision... [ this time itz my BOSS in office ]
Sun shone bright outside that day... so do I ... coz i got d permission 2 leave early....

Rushed 2 d Cineworld [ A Famous theatre in Ilford, East London ].. Got a comfortable seat... all set with drink and potato fries....

FIRST DAY FIRST SHOW..... Full of Excitement..... Exhilaration... Excitation...

The Movie began..... but i couldnt hear anything .. know why .... d theatre was full of Indians shouting ...rather yelling at their peek... it was also me who joined d yell ;-p Poor me... my shout was insignificant among the loud roar... however u know i was at my best :-(

and u know why d yell 4 ? d screen showed "juz a leg out a car"..... Hooo...... i guess u r winding back urself at that state... cool... nothing 2 recall... u were also EXCITED / YELLING...as simple as this :-))

I enjoyed
Every bit of his Movie...
Every bit of his Comedy...
Every bit of his Songs...
Every bit of his Action...
Every bit of his Styles...
It was simply mind blogging ... mind blowing... mind capturing...
I was simply enamoured.... an unreasoning fondness....
I hv no apt words 2 expose my joy over d film....
I can say it was d unusual stories and passionate performances that captured d audience's interest

Making of d film began at d AVM Studios, Chennai, India on 28 November 2005. It took 18+ months to take its fullest shape. It z d costliest production 2 date; costing about Rs. 102 crores excluding thalaivar's salary of 36 Indian crores. It z d first Tamil film 2 be released simultaneously in 30 countries namely UK, US, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and ofcourse India.

Costliest EVER made Indian Movie - 102 crores
CroresHighest paid Asian actor - 36 crores

Official audio of Sivaji released in India and overseas on 2nd April, 2007. There was a pre-order of about 105,000 CDs and 90,000 cassettes, before d release in Tamil Nadu, India. On April 2, 2007 80,000 CDs were sold and there was a request of a further 100,000 2 meet d demand of d customers.

Songs are beyond imagination..... extra-ordinary.... The songs that are in my fav. playlist are

1. Vaa..ji Vaa..ji Sivaji
- Exceptional...
- Picturized at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City, with sets at a cost of 3 Indian Crores
- Highlight of d song z thalaivar clothed as d King of Egypt with knee-length warriors.
2. Balleilakka
- Remarkable...
- In paddy fields near Pune - Over 300 extras
3. Oru Koodai Sunlight
- Kinda Over-the-top
- Picturized in Bilbao, Spain
4. Athiradee
- An extraordinary capacity for work
- sung by A. R. Rahman
- Picturized at Binny Mills, with Sivaji fighting several villans
5. Sahana and Sahara
- In Heaven.......Hooo......... beyond Human touch ....
6. BOSS
- background song... Hoo... chanceless...

"Payum vegam Jet Li thaanda....... Punch vacha Idli thaanda.... "

Shankar's penchant 4 grandeur is to d fullest in all d songs..... rather all over d movie

hey hold on a sec...oh.. i mentioned all d songs in d movie... Ha ha ha....
Hey Listen, it wasnt intentional to mention all the songs....
" It was a concidence damn it !! " ;-p [Also, Thalaivar to Shirya in the movie, when he'd lost all his property.. ]

Few results from Survey
<> "Rajnikanth is the one and only Super Star of India. " (HT's Survey - 78% voted for namma Super Star, 16% Bachan, 6% rest)
<> There are about 12 individual websites created for a movie, first time in history.
<>Google has reported that the phrase "sivaji movie" has been the most ever searched one under the category of movies.
<> First time in the history of Indian Cinema, tickets have been booked upto 30 days in advance in a city before release!!! (At Chennai).
<> Record breaking profit through copy rights alone - 200 crores.
<> Expected profit if the movie makes 100 days - 420 crores.
<> First Tamil film ever to be featured in the UK top 10, the film has collected £ 167,607 from 12 screens

Hey u know wht....... i liked the mannerism in which 'Mottai Boss' tapping his tonsure. Simply catchy...
[ Mottai - Means Shaved head, Tonsure in Tamil ]

Another expectional aspect of the movie is d computer graphics and technical wizardry elements fused with d film.
A spl metion : d day before i watched d movie... i was chatting with my Frnd Lakshamanan in India... and i told him am gonna watch d movie...he was like "Dont miss my name in d end title under graphics Engineers".... Hooo.... Somebody whom i know z part of d flim...

The villan should have been a bumblebee....humblebee kinda guy.....
I would suggest Hagrid, be a better choice for the villan rather than Suman... ;-p
5ne anyway... he is not as cruel as Voldemort
[ Hagrid and Voldermont - fictitious character in the Harry Potter, created by J.K.Rowling]

Well,Movie in a line,
"Sivaji Rao Gaekwad as Sivaji, a Software Systems Architect, d hero z a one-man agent of change and development in India."

Thalaivar's character in a line,
"Sivaji, the BOSS , holds a 'Bachelor in Social Service'."

Since I’m a hardcore fan of d Super Star, I will watch d movie again and again.......

cool.......

Well written Sangee....
Yes the way even Superstar taps his tonsured head and makes it style - wow what to say - he can invent in style in whatever he wants :) And the dialogue where Superstar says "Kanna,Pannithan kumbala varum, Singam singla varum" is just awesome, me too watched first day first show in telugu - would be going next week for Tamil...

well written Sangee - me too watched first day, first show -
mind blowing action sequences, art direction and above all the style of superstar; all these mask the mediocre story.
Its going to be a huge hit - and its already is....
btw your blog says you are 250 years Old!

Hi Sangi,

Its really g8. U know till i read ur mail i was not much interested to see sivaji movie since im not a big fan of Rajinikanth as i believe tat he is jus one among the good actor n people r jus praising him for no reason n he is also to old to act as an Hero.
But after reading ur writing i simply feel speachless and i'm jus waiting for the first show ie., on this sunday to watch the movie at orlando were i stay. n nothing much to say but this movie is going to achieve a significant place in the cine history.
And moreover i appreciate ur writings though its lengthy i did'nt feel reading long since it was so interesting and afterall changed me impresion on Rajinikanth an Sivaji Movie. Its simply superb Yer!!!!.

Love n wishes,
Venni
