Deliverable day - SHAH SAW !

Occasion: Deliverable day - Here is a cherishable n memorable moment during the Hitachi Project “Enhancement of JP1/Base Remote Command”.

We had deliverables after deliverables…. Rating its troublesome from small to big: they were

Hectic;
Very Hectic;
Really very Hectic;
Extremely Hectic;
Terrifically Hectic;
and so on..

[ I am not exaggerating the scene….
Remote commandos have undergone such hectic-ness!!! So, stop that crazy looks n proceed reading! ]

That was 1 tremendously hectic deliverable.
People were working hard to make it a HIT.

Now…. Itz ur part to Run ur imaginary horse @ 180kmph…….
Bring picture to mind..

We were in D-EXT wing, TC1 , LnTInfotech, Chennai :

Sreenidish n Satish pre-building……. [Making pre-buliding arrangements]
Thalai monitoring…….
Others Testing………..
Kavitha spl testing….
[Meaning, she tests her own fix]
Jcocmdexe throwing……..
[Throwing exception]
Jcocmdrouter fixing……….
[Still fixing bugs, underground manipulations]
Jcocmdapi freaking….
Jcocmdcom breathe taking…..
[coz itz functionalities never tested @ d end !]
n finally, Shah checking (in) …..
[Log related files were chked in ]

[Note: Sreenidish, Satish, Kavitha, Shah - Remote commandos
Jcocmdexe, Jcocmdrouter, Jcocmdcom, Jcocmdapi – Modules in Remote command project
Thalai is a slang in Tamil, which means Leader/Head]

Everything went on smooth… Deliverable was over n every1 left Esp…. shah left …… except PM n PLs..
Do u Know why they stayed?

More than 15 log files weren’t checked in… they were done after the deliverable…. That check in was done by our gr8 PM … so we had 1 more deliverable after the wrong version …
[Note: NO Team member was aware of it]

Now the comedy track comes …..

Next day, Shah comes to Office…
Satish, as always, was extracting the sent deliverable folder for the 1001th time for ensuring if it is getting extracted or not
Shah slowly walks to sathish and asks him…

Here goes the Shah n Sappi conversation …..

Shah: “Dei machi… I wanna verify if I have checked in some log files da”
[He means the missed out 15 files]
Sathish: Yup…. [Fasting his hands to open log folder under SI path …]
Shah: “Appada…. Irruka da… “ [ means…. I am Safe that they are present]
[He thinks he had checked in those files last night]
Sathish: [giving a wide smile]
[NOTE: Machi – is a Tamil slang among Guys, which denotes closeness]

Sathish continues to Extract the deliverables for the 1002nd time ..... he he he
sappi..... Crazy man !
[Sappi is Sathish' nick name]
Shah departs happily from Sathish’s place

Fine…. Now our Lion (PM) enters…….
Lion: Shah please come… letz have a discussion
Addressing PL …. Why can’t u join the discussion?
[shah Confused….]
Shah: [micturatingly] yes!

Thalai, PL, our shah went into the D-Ext Wing discussion room

Door was tight shut for more than 0.5 hrs
However, it started oscillating / swinging slightly for the next 1 hr

Itz all over………… “ Om…… Shanthi……. Shanthi……. Shanthi……. hee”
[Shanthi in sanskrit means 'peace' ]
PM, PL came out….. Followed by SHAH

Shah came out n was already excreting his perspiration through the pores in the skin ……… Gotcha?
Hey I mean ………… Sweating terribly ………….

By that time…. Ppl outside knew wht had happened last night…..

Few of his frnds went to him:

SHAH SAW …….. Other frnds also saw ….

Frnds : Why blood ?
Same Blood!!!

[This is a famous dialogue in a famous Tamil movie, If not aware of it…. Juz smile n forget it!!! However understand that the narration ended with an apt dialogue]

Big smiles for Shah! :))))

Dreams to board an International Airline…

Hey ppl,

Dreams to board an International Airways came to true on 28th August ’06. :-)

It was a fine n excellent Sunday……… n the only day left to Pack my stuffs n get geared up to Fly…
It was told to me to take only 20 KG of main Baggage n 7 kg of Hand Baggage.
And was given hell of instructions to avoid certain thing in hand baggage n blah… blah …

Now its time to weigh n Pack…

Gosh… My Mom had purchased food items for 20 Kgs…
Unpacked Suitcase n Unpacked Bag weighs around 6.5 Kgs [4+2.5].
Oops! I have reached my limit even before packing…

Apprehensively my mom n dad had called the airways n was confirming the maximum permissible weights… However it didn’t pave way…. The answer was the bugging numeral “27”
So I gotta take out some food items :(
n another bag that weighs less :( Gotta discard my new Bag :(

Finally, after Packing… it was all set fine…
Verified my BIIIIIIG travel checklist n itz done! Pakka!
[‘Pakka is a Tamil slang rather a Remote command-ian slang, which means Perfect
And Remote command is my first prj]

Itz 28th August ’06! Hoooo...

“Yes… Today is a BIG day for me… Am gonna Fly… “
[Hey ppl…. Hang on for a sec… I can hear u whispering ‘Gosh! This line is too much for her’. Listen… This is a dialog from the movie ‘Yuva’. So keep Ur lip tight! ;-P]

MY Parents n Sissies came to the Chennai airport;

I was like "Hold on a sec buddies..... Are we in on the right terminal ? we need to go Kamaraj Terminal (Domestic) ? "
My dad was more energized than me… and thatz why I adore n respect my dad…. He never lets me go through even a small pain. He takes it before I do! :)

I boarded an airlines’ Bus that lead me to a Domestic flight to Mumbai…. The plane took off…. Fortunate I got a Window seat to have a bird’s view of the great metropolitan cities of India … i.e. Chennai n Mumbai.

The Chennai city looked gud… Better than Mumbai’s view…. Listen… I cant put my own Chennai down!

The Mumbai city, from the top view, appeared like a Motherboard…. Slightly, green here n there & Tall n short buildings structures projecting out like Electronic chips on the green surface of the motherboard!
[Hey, Damn kewl comparison gurl! ;-P]

Fine… Landed Mumbai airport…. Wht next? Gotta go to International Airport from the Domestic one…. was slightly bewildering now…. Do I need to identify my baggage before I Board or will the porters themselves do it…
However, I was instructed to identify it in the Mumbai airport….

So I juz went …. Saw my big blue suitcase arranged near the porters…. Fine… its safe… Need to Rush to the other airport… so boarded another hi5 bus to reach there… The Mumbai city is full of Taxi n Taxi-walas…. Yeeks, I didn’t like it all!
I will call it a Black city … coz… the taxies, the Taxi-walas n the smoke of the taxi were all black n grubby!

Now…. I had my immigration chk done in there n boarded another BIIIIIG International flight 9W1245 to the United Kingdom. It dashed the atmospheres of both Land n Water ……

The 9W1245 flew over Arabian Sea, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Black sea, Ukraine, Poland, Germany n finally to the Heathrow airport, London, United Kingdom.

Wondering! How I knew the route… For those who are not aware: There is a mini LCD touch screen behind every seat… using which Flight details, Flight Routes, Timings etc can be known by the passengers…. Not only that u can see movie n listen to songs all most all language, games etc… I saw Hindi Devdas n Tamil Ghajini :)

Now… I really gotta tell u guess abt View of London from Brid’s eye!
From the Tropopause layer, everything looked clumsy n Tiny! As, we started lowering down the Troposphere… I felt the Turbulence n d flight was kinda hubbubing now, this was the the most turbulent part of the journey

So, from this height, I was able to see things clearly however like a miniature model of the whole London city ! River Thames was running in the center of the london n it was like a massive size Anaconda, which had eaten 2 huge buffalos, lying down dividing the city into 2 huge land masses ! As we lowered doen a still more, I was able to see the BIGBEN! Infact I didn’t know that was the bigben… a guy behind me was showing everything to his kid… n i overheard everything ;-p .heee heee… On the bank of the Thames, skyscrapers standing still, gave an admirable top view. Gosh… I don’t have my camera now …… :(

Now…. Safely landed in the Heathrow airport…

Gosh… I need to take a cab n reach my house … alone... All alone in the mysterious, strange, unknown, unfamiliar part of the world. Thank god! I met Ratheesh, the Savior, my colleague n project mate, in the Airport… So both of us managed to take Tubes [trains in London] n Reach Leiswham, where my Room mates were waiting for me…

I managed to carry my Heavy baggage all by myself n went up d hills to Halesworth road… that was a fatiguing 6 mins walk!

Finally rested myself @ 9:30 pm in a soothing bed, after a long Travel! Resting with a thought that need to report CITIGROUP tomo @ 9:00 in the morning!

That Thought woke me up at the right time in the morning …….
BIG SMILES :))

19 Sept 2006

Hey Dudes

Reporting from Canary Wharf, London, UK...

Hoooh… I went oomph, when I typed that!

Traveling Across the Sea...
Boarding International Flight...
Walking alone in the streets of London...
Looking @ the British....
Wondering abt their Culture...

Oh Gosh!
Everything thing was new to me on d 1st day....

Never will I get a Chance again like this!
Tnx GOD! :)

The first week was really kewl...
I was in Lewisham, the place where I learnt how to hang around safely in the Great Britain.

Cooking n Cutting… Mess up the Kitchen
Chatting n Talking…
Kill d time
Walking n Running… Muddle around the streets for buses
Nudging n Pushing…. Jump into the Tubes [trains]
Traveling n watching…
Rove in d Tubes over the Thames

So, that is what I did in the first weekdays!

However… My first Weekend………….

“London Bridge is falling down, Falling down, falling down, London Bridge is falling down, My fair Lady.
Build it up with wood and clay, Wood and clay, wood and clay; Build it up with wood and clay, My fair Lady.
Build it up with iron and steel, Iron and steel, iron and steel; Build it up with iron and steel, My fair Lady.
Build it up with silver and gold, Silver and gold, silver and gold, Build it up with silver and gold, My fair Lady. “

Yup…. I visited the world famous London Bridge also know as Tower Bridge. It has become one of London's most famous landmarks. It was the last road bridge built in London that is able to open in order to let tall ships into the Upper Pool of London. It provides a wonderful view of the Thames River and the life going on around it.

Chamu, Sachin, Shiva and d sweet me had gone for an excellent tour around the bridge… capturing everything thatz possible from the bridge…. Taking Videos, Photos etc…. We had major gala! However, I was slightly away from the gala, as always… Coz…. I was admiring every bit of the bridge n River.

The bridge looked awesome, glittering in the Night-lights, the Thames was sparkling in the reflections of the lights…. Ships n Boats here n there… People waving hands from it…. Hoooo! That was a great evening!

On my First Sunday… I was hanging around the HI5 PCWorld, Comet, and Currys… They seemed like another lively museum.

From Huge LCD monitors, giant Home Theater Speakers, Gigantic Screens… to
Tiny Computer, Small electronic items… what not
I was wondering… Whose is gonna buy such weird things…

Actually, we were there to buy Laptop adaptor…
Fine…. That was a cool place to roam around….

And thatz my first week in London !
